The voltage limits are affected because the system is operated close to its stability limits. To improve the voltage profile new generating plants have to be developed, which are restricted due to economic an environmental limitations. To overcome these limitations and use the existing network to the maximum, FACTS devices are used. In this paper, SVC a FACTS device is used to improve the voltage profile of the network. To decide the location of the SVC, voltage sensitivity analysis method is used. FACTS devices are used to compensate both real and reactive power. To demonstrate this IEEE 14 bus and 39 bus are considered. The complete simulation is done using PSAT version 2.1.6 in Matlab 7.10.0 (R2010 a). | ||
