| 520 | |a Background :Xerosis is a result of decreased water content of the stratum corneum, which leads to abnormal desquamation of corneocytes. Treatment with using moisturizer has a function to keep the water content of the skin between 10% until 30%. Most of the moisturizers use synthetic adhesives which based on literally it adduce side effect. There is extensive need to replace toxic synthetic agent from base using component of herbal to decrease the side effect of moisturizing. This research product examine the active component of Aloe vera and Tea tree oil in moisturizing formulation. Purpose :To know the effectiveness of Aloe vera extract and tea tree oil mixtures in formulating moisturizer for dry skin. Metodh :This research is experimental with one group pre test post test design which use 35 respondents. Respondents who had negative patch test, filled the questionnaire on pre test according to Visual Skin Score. Respondents used the research product on their foot twice a day for 21 days. Finally, respondents filled questionnaire on post test. Data was examined by Wilcoxon text with the standart of significance p < 0,05 Result : There are 26 respondents (74,3%) have increased their level of skin moisturizing, 9 respondents (25,7%) have not changed, and no one has decreased the level of the skin moisturizing. The result of Wilcoxon text is obtained p <0,05 Conclusion :Aloe vera extract and tea tree oil mixtures in formulating moisturizer is effective for dry skin.
