总结:ABSTRACT A Relationship between Knowledge and Father's Role in Exclusive Breastfeeding in Semarang xvii + 80 pages + 13 table + 2 schemas + 22 appendixes Breastmilk is the best nutrition for the babies during their first 6 months, despite knowing the clear benefits of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF), the practice of EBF is still low. Father's role in EBF should be well prepared in order to optimizing his role. Father's knowledge on EBF is needed as a basis for the father as a breastfeeding father. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and father's role in EBF. This was a cross-sectional correlative design study, conducted at Sub Kemijen District in October - November 2015. The respondents were fathers of exclusive breastfeed baby/ toddler (0-2 years old). Data were collected using structural questionnaires (20 multiple_choice questions about EBF knowledge and 23 statements of father's role in EBF) with proportionate random sampling technique. Univariate data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and Chi-square test was used to analyze bivariate data. It was 60% of the total respondents (N= 100) had a good knowledge about EBF process and approximately half of them had a good role as breastfeeding father in the process. The result showed a significant relationship between knowledge and father's role in EBF (p value= 0.001, OR= 6.474). Fathers with a high level of EBF knowledge had a greater possibility to perform their good role as a breastfeeding father. To promote EBF and to achieve the success of EBF, fathers need to be educated about their roles during intranatal period. Key word: Knowledge, Exclusive Breastfeeding, Breastfeeding Father References: 76 (2000-2015)
