Description
Summary:BAcground : Allergic or hypersensitive reaction which mediated by IgE is a health problem in developing and developed country. Vitamin D can decrease the inflammation and infection in respiration canal, increase lung function, decrease respiration sensitivity and decrease the hypersensitivity of aeroalergent. Aim : To prove the effect of vitamin D supplement administration to the number of eosinophil in the mice Balb/c's lung tissue which was inducted by ovalbumin. Methodes : The study is True Experimental with Post Test Only Control Group Design. There were 18 samples of Balb/c mice which were divided by 3 groups: negative control group only given standard food, control positive group was inducted by ovalbumin, and treatment group was inducted by ovalbumin and per oral vitamin D supplement. This study worked during 30 days. At the thirtyone day, the mice were terminated to examine the lung tissue histopathology. Result : The histopathology of lung tissue shows that in Shapiro Wilk test the distribution data was not normal. Then Kruskal Wallis test shows that the data was significant with p=0,006 (p>0,05 next with Mann Whitney test and the result was the mean of eosinophil shows the significant differences between the control positive group and negative control group, which was p=0,008 (p<0,05). There were significant differences between positive control group and treatment group with vitamin D, which was p=0,008 (p<0,05). However, there was non-significant difference between negative control group and treatment group with vitamin D, which was p=0,690 (p<0.05) Conclusionn : The administration of vitamin D supplement has effect of reducing to the mean of eosinophil lung tissue in Balb/c mice which was inducted by ovalbumin. Keywords : Allergic, rhinitis allergic, vitamin D, lung, eosinofil.
