Smoking as one of the risk factor, take up important role in the pathophysiology of heart and vessel disease itself. Exposure to tobacco's smoke molecule are known to have significant effect to the disfunction of the vessel's wall. However, there is no research yet that compared the level of smoking addiction to the degree of vessel damage in Dr. Kariadi General Hospital. Objective: To find out the relation between the level of smoking addiction with the severity of atherosclerosis in patient with coronary heart disease Method: This research using a cross-sectional method by interviewing 30 respondents who was a patient in the heart department in Dr. Kariadi general hospital who undergoes a coronary angiography examination between the ages of 40 to 65 Results: either its more or less patient's consumption of tobacco each day, doesn't affect the degree of atherosclerosis severity in the coronary vessel of the heart (p=0,156) Conclusion: There is no significant differences between the level of addiction of tobacco to the severity of atherosclerosis in patient with coronary heart disease.
