However, the blindness that is caused by glaucoma can be prevented by increasing patient adherence on the prescription drugs usage. The higher the patient's awareness of the dangers of glaucoma and their adherence on the prescription drugs usage, the more we can minimize severe complications and vision loss that may occur in the future. Aim : To determine the relationship between the patient's knowledge level about glaucoma and their adherence on the prescription drugs usage. Methods : This research was using an analytic observasional with cross sectional study approach. The respondents were the glaucoma patients of RSUP Dr. Kariadi's Eye Polyclinic who were undergoing medicamentous treatment and proven suitable for the research according to the criteria for inclusion. The data collected in this study were primary data. First, the data were collected through interviews with a guide list of closed questions and afterwards the interviewers proceeded with in-depth interviews with a guide list of open questions. Statistical tests performed are Shapiro Wilk normality test and Spearman correlation test. Result : There is a significant relationship between knowledge and the patient's adherence on the prescription drug usage ( p = 0.003 ). The statistical relation strength between variables is in the medium category ( 0.4 - < 0.6 ), and the direction of the correlation is positive, which means the dependent variables increased when independent variable increased. Conclusion : There is a relationship between the respondent's knowledge level about glaucoma with their adherence on the prescription drug usage. Keywords : Level of knowledge, patient adherence on prescription drug usage, glaucoma
