Summary:Background : Acne vulgaris is suffered by mostly adolescents. Therefore, it is necessary to have awareness of prevention and treatment to overcome it by providing health education. Lecturing-like-socialization is often chosen but this method has many weaknesses. Consequently, there is an evelopment of more effective method called blanded learning. Aim : To know the effect of blended-learning-approach towards the knowledge and attitude of students in SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang about acne vulgaris. Method : This research wasa quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. Thesubjects of this research were10thgrade's students at SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang. The treatment groups weredivided into blended learning group, lectured group, and controlled group each consisted of two classes with the total number was208 subjects.Data wereobtained from questionnaires filled out by each subject and then were analyzed using SPSS. Results: This research showedsignificant improving knowledge and attitude in blended learning group and lectured group before and after eachwas given counseling with blended-learning-approach and lecturing-method (p = 0.000) and there wereno significant differences in controlled group for knowledge (p = 0.456) and attitude (p =0.057). The research also showedsignificant difference between controlled group and lectured group for knowledge difference (p = 0.000) and attitude difference (p = 0.001), a significant difference between controlled group and blended learning group for knowledge difference (p = 0.000) and attitude difference (p = 0.000), and no significant difference between lectured group and blended learning group for knowledge difference (p = 0.894) and attitude difference (p = 0.294). Conclusion : There are someeffectsof blended-learning-approach towards the knowledge and attitude of students in SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang about acne vulgaris.
