Summary:The individuals who underwent ORIF often have problems either at physical, psychological, social relationship and their relationship with environment. These problems can affect their quality of life. Low quality of life can cause high social isolation level and emotional distress, which is also associated with low physical function and their physical inability. This study aimed to describe the quality of life of patients after ORIF lower extremities in Orthopaedic Polyclinic of Orthopaedic Hospital Prof Dr R Soeharso Surakarta. The design of this research was a descriptive survey and used quality of life questionnaire. The sampling technique that used is consecutive sampling and the number of respondents was 40 respondents. The data was analyzed by univariate analysis. The results showed that the quality of life of patients with post ORIF lower extremities that in good categories is 52.5%.The quality of life of patients based on the dimensions is in good categories. they are 52.5% in physical dimensions, 65% in the psychological dimension, 75% in social dimensions and 52.5% on the environmental dimension. Based on these results it can be concluded that most of the quality of life of patients with post ORIF be in good category. This study is expected to be a consideration for the nursing profession to pay more attention to the quality of life of patients after ORIF particularly in some aspects of the physical dimensions to support for better nursing process.
