Due to fatigue, the patients become too tired to engage in daily activities which can, therefore, affect their quality of life. It is important to know the most significant factors associated with cancer fatigue and the appropriate nursing interventions required to addressing this problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the most significant factors associated with fatigue in cancer patients and to determine the effects of five-fingered relaxation interventions on the patients' fatigue. This study involved 2 stages: stage 1 with a cross-sectional design, and stage 2 with a pre-test and post-test design. The number of samples in the first stage was 53 respondents of accidental sampling, while the second stage was 32 respondents of purposive sampling. The data in the first stage were analyzed using a frequency distribution and chi-square test. Meanwhile, on the second stage, the paired t-test, Wilcoxon, and Spearman correlation tests were used. The results indicated the quality of sleep had a meaningful relationship with the fatigue (p-value = 0.004), and the five-fingered relaxation techniques gave effects on the increase of sleep quality and the decrease of fatigue in Camamae patients (p-value = 0.000). The quality of sleep and fatigue showed a moderate level of relationship (r = 0.396) and a positive pattern. The study recommends the use of five-fingered relaxation techniques to overcome the impaired quality of sleep and fatigue as the signs and symptoms found in cancer patients.
