| Summary: | Tesis ini merupakan kajian Etnokoreologi untuk mengungkapkan karakteristik masyarakat Aceh, meliputi struktur pemerintahan adat, adat-istiadat dan pola tatanan masyarakat melalui esensi gerak tari Rampoe yang merupakan kolektif dari lima tarian Aceh, yaitu Seudati, Pho, Laweut, Ratoh Duek dan Saman, sehingga dibutuhkan analisis yang tajam terhadap teks dan konteks pada tari. Etnokoreologi digunakan sebagai pijakan teori untuk mengkaji teks tari Rampoe berdasarkan pengkategorian, deskripsi, analisis, pemaknaan dari bentuk tari yang terdiri dari : (1) gerak, (2) musik iringan, (3) properti, (4) pola lantai, dan (5) koreografi kelompok, (6) dinamika gerak. Pada konteks tari Rampoe, peneliti akan menganalisis karakteristik masyarakat Aceh, meliputi keterkaitan jejak struktur pemerintahan adat, yaitu Sultan, Ulama, dan Uleebalang terhadap kepemimpinan dalam tari, yaitu Syekh, Aneuk Syahi dan Apiet, serta pola tatanan masyarakat, kearifan lokal, sifat, nilai-nilai dan konsep budaya masyarakat yang dilihat dari bentuk dan esensi pada pertunjukan tari Rampoe, sehingga memerlukan pendekatan historis dan antropologi yang berada di bawah payung besar disiplin Etnokoreologi. Berdasarkan penelitian, didapatkan hasil bahwa kajian Etnokoreologi dapat membedah setiap teks dan konteks pada tari Rampoe sehingga ditemukannya bahwa tari sebagai produk ekspresi dari masyarakat, yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai budaya asalnya. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari (1) bentuk kepemimpinan tari yang diadopsi dari pemerintahan adat, (2) sifat masyarakat Aceh yang keras, kompak, setia kawan, menjunjung nilai-nilai persaudaraan, angkuh, dan pantang menyerah tercermin dalam esensi gerak dan syair pada tari Rampoe Kata kunci : Tari Rampoe, Etnokoreologi, Karakteristik Masyarakat Aceh This thesis is an ethnochoreology study revealing the characteristics of the Acehnese people; it covers the structure of customs administration, custom, and the pattern of public order through movement of Rampoe dance that refers to a combination of five Acehnese dances namely, Seudati, Pho, Laweut, Ratoh Duek and Saman. Therefore, an in-depth analysis is needed to dissect texts and contexts in those dances. Ethno- choreology is used as a cornerstone to examine the text of Rampoe dance based on classification, description, analysis, and interpretation of the form of the dance consisting of (1) movement, (2) music, (3) properties, (4) floor patterns, (5) group choreography, (6) and movement dynamics. In the context of Rampoe dance, the researcher will analyse the characteristics of the Acehnese people that cover the structure of custom administration - namely, Sultan, Ulama, and Uleebalang- towards the leadership in the dance - namely Syekh, Aneuk Syahi and Apiet, as well as the pattern of public order, the values of local wisdom, the cultural values and concept of the people based on the form and essential of Rampoe dance performance. Thus, this study needs a historical- anthropological approach within the framework of ethnochoreology. The result of this study show that an ethnochoreology study can dissect each text and context of Rampoe dance so that it reveals that dances constitute an expression product of the people (society) reflecting the values of their origin cultures. It can be seen from (1) the form of dance leadership adopted from custom administration, (2) the characteristic of the Acehnese people, namely assertive, loyal, solicitous, arrogant, and optimistic that are reflected in the essential of movement and song of Rampoe dance.
