| 520 | |a Penelitian berjudul 'Analisis Terjemahan Idiom Murni Dalam Novel Tell Me Your Dreams Milik Sidney Sheldon' ini bertujuan untuk mencari strategi apa yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan idiom murni menggunakan teori milik Baker (1992) dan jenis-jenis kesetaraan makna dari terjemahan idiom-idiom yang ditemukan dalam novel terjemahan dengan menggunakan teori milik Bell (1991). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan penelitian. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada empat strategi yang digunakan oleh penerjemah. Strategi-strategi tersebut adalah terjemahan harfiah (25%), menggunakan idiom dengan makna dan bentuk yang sama (14%), menggunakan idiom dengan makna yang sama namun bentuk yang berbeda (12%), dan terjemahan dengan parafrase sebagai strategi yang paling banyak digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan idiom murni dengan presentase sebanyak 49% dari keseluruhan data. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa sebagian besar idiom yang telah diterjemahkan memiliki kesetaraan makna yang penuh dengan presentase sebanyak 70% dari keseluruhan data. Temuan-temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah telah berhasil dalam menerjemahkan idiom murni dari bahasa sumber ke bahasa target.; The present study entitled Translation Analysis of Pure Idioms in Sidney Sheldon's Tell Me Your Dreams aims to find out the strategies which are used by the translator in translating pure idioms using Mona Baker's theory (1992) and the types of equivalent meaning of idioms translation found in the translated novel by using a theory proposed by Bell (1991). This study used a qualitative method in order to answer the research questions. The study found that the are four strategies which are used by the translator. The strategies are literal translation (25%), using an idiom of similar meaning and form (14%), using an idiom of similar meaning but dissimilar form (12%), and translation by paraphrase as the most frequent strategy used by the translator in translating pure idioms with the percentages of 49% of the whole data. Moreover, the study also found that most of the idioms that had been translated have a fully equivalent meaning with the percentages of 70% of the whole data. The findings suggest that the translator has succeeded in translating pure idioms from the source language into the target language. | ||
