DenganmodelContextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)penelitimengasumsikanbahwapembelajaran IPS perlumenggunakanpembelajaran yang mengaitkanantaramateripembelajarandengansituasikenyataan yang dialamisehari-hari.Metode penelitian kelas yang akan di lakukan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Rancangan model PTK yang dilaksanakan pada penelitian ini adalah model spiral atau siklus yang diadaptasi dari Kemmis dan Taggart. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan instrumen soal evaluasi/soal tes dan LKS. Instrumen penelitian merupakan alat pengumpul data yang di gunakan dalam suatu penelitian. Instrumen pengungkap data yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini, adalah Lembar Observasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) pada pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik;--- The research and background to make a difference in the process of teaching and learning for the success of the goalof learning by appliying a system of learning that involves students activetly in teachingand learning activities to implement the model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to improve the understanding of concepts students with sound the context of everyday life of students as a source of learning. With the model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) the researchers assume that learning the IPS have to use learning that tie between learning materials with the fact that in natural everyday. The reseach method a class that will do is reseach a class action (RACA). The model RACA carried out in this study is the kind of spiral or the cycle that are adapted from Kemmis and Taggart. The data in most of this research is to use the instruments of evaluation about tests and sheet work students. The instrument of research is a tool of collecting data in use in a research instrument the data used in this study is an observation. The results showed that by applying the model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) on learning the IPS could increas the understanding of concepts students.
