Summary:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kesalahan siswa, profil miskonsepsi siswa, profil kesulitan belajar siswa, penyebab kesalahan siswa, penyebab miskonsepsi siswa, dan penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa pada topik PLDV. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, penelitian dilakukan dengan memberikan soal tes pemahaman konsep siswa pada topik PLDV dan memberikan angket kesulitan belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP kelas VIII yang sudah mempelajari topik persamaan linear dua variabel. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa ditemukan delapan profil kesalahan siswa, enam profil miskonsepsi siswa, tujuh profil kesulitan belajar siswa, sepuluh penyebab kesalahan dan miskonsepsi siswa, dan sepuluh penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil tes siswa pada topik PLDV ditemukan 71% siswa mengalami kesulitan menentukan solusi soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel berbentuk aljabar, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kesulitan dalam menggunakan, memanfaatkan, dan memilih prosedur atau operasi tertentu pada topik ini. Selain itu, dari hasil analisis data angket diperoleh bahwa kesulitan belajar siswa pada topik ini secara umum tidak disebabkan oleh sumber belajar lain di luar sekolah, sehingga kesulitan-kesulitan belajar siswa yang ditemukan sebagian besar berasal dari kegiatan belajar siswa di sekolah.---------------The objectives of this study is to determine the profile of student's error, student's misconception profile, student's learning difficulty profile, the cause of student's error, the cause of student misconception, and the cause of student's learning difficulties on linear equation of two varibel topic. this is a qualitative research, the research was carried out by giving the students understanding concept test on linear equation of two variabels topic and giving questionnaire of students learning difficulties. Subject of the study are junior high school students who have studied linear equation of two variabel topic. The results of the study revealed that there were eight students' error profiles, six students' misconception profiles, seven students' learning difficulties profiles, ten causes of errors and misconceptions, and ten causes of learning difficulties. Based on the results of the students test it was found 71% of students have difficulty determining the solution of linear equations of two variables algebraic form, this indicates students have difficulty in using, utilizing, and choosing a particular procedure or operation on this topic. In addition, from the results of questionnaire analysis, it is found that students 'learning difficulties on this topic are generally not caused by other learning resources outside the school, so that students' learning difficulties are mostly derived from student learning activities at school.
