Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dianjurkan berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL). Problem Based Learning adalah model pembelajaran yang dirancang agar peserta didik memperoleh pengetahuan yang membuat mereka mahir dalam memecahkan masalah, dan memiliki model belajar sendiri serta memiliki kecakapan berpartisipasi dalam tim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran peningkatan kemampuan memahami dan mengidentifikasi profil level Self Directed Learning Skill siswa SMA pada materi momentum dan impuls setelah diterapkan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian one group pretest- postest design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas X dengan sampel dua kelas eksperimen tanpa menggunakan kelas pembanding. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan memahami yang berdasarkan indikator taksonomi Bloom Revisi, dan kuisioner Self Directed Learning Skill atau Self Directed Learning Readiness Scale (SDLRS). Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan perhitungan rata-rata N-gain kemampuan memahami dan perhitungan serta pengkategorian berdasarkan SDLRS (Self Directed Learning Rubic Score) tipe SDLRS-ABE. Hasil analisis data, didapatkan peningkatan kemampuan memahami berdasarkan N-gain <g> yaitu sebesar 0,71 yang dikategorikan tinggi dan profil Self Directed Learning Skill siswa berada pada level dibawah rata-rata. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan memahami, juga mengidentifikasi kemampuan belajar mandiri (Self Directed Learning Skill) siswa.----------Learning activities that educate to overcome the tendency of problems arising in the process of learning physics need to be developed. One of the recommended learning models based on Curriculum 2013 is Problem Based Learning (PBL). Problem Based Learning is a learning model designed to enable learners to acquire knowledge that makes them adept at solving problems, and has their own learning models and has the skills to participate in teams. This study aims to obtain an overview of improving the ability to understand and identify the profile of Self Directed Learning Skill level of high school students on the material momentum and impulse after the applied Problem Based Learning. This research uses quantitative method with one group pretest-posttest design research. The subjects were high school students of class X with a sample of two experimental classes without using a comparison class. The instruments used are the ability to understand tests based on Bloom Revision's taxonomic indicator, and the Self Directed Learning Skill or Self Directed Learning Skill (SDLRS) questionnaire. The data obtained is then processed by calculating the average N-gain ability to understand and calculation and categorization based on SDLRS (Self Directed Learning Rubic Score) SDLRS-ABE type. The result of data analysis, got the ability to understand based on N-gain <g> that is equal to 0.71 which is categorized high and the profile of Self Directed Learning Skill of student is in level below average. It can be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning can improve the ability to understand, also identify self-learning ability (Self Directed Learning Skill) students.
