| Summary: | Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh hasil survei yang dilakukan oleh World's Most Literate Nations (WMLN) tahun 2016 dan Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) pada tahun 2006 yang dapat disimpulkan bahwa minat baca siswa sekolah dasar di Indonesia dapat dikategorikan rendah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, pemerintah Indonesia menerbitkan sebuah peraturan melalui Permendikbud No 23 Tahun 2015 yang mewajibkan siswa membaca selama 15 menit sebelum pembelajaran dan merealisasikannya dengan sebuah program yaitu program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS). Agar program GLS berjalan dengan efektif, maka sekolah mengimplementasikan media Pohon Geulis. Media tersebut merupakan upaya yang diterapkan agar peserta didik memiliki kebiasaan membaca. Permasalahan yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana hubungan persepsi siswa tentang media Pohon Geulis (Gerakan Literasi) dengan minat baca di SDN Melong Mandiri 1 Kota Cimahi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan persepsi siswa tentang media Pohon Geulis (Gerakan Literasi) dengan minat baca pada SDN Melong Mandiri 1 Kota Cimahi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik pada SDN Melong Mandiri 1 Kota Cimahi kelas 4 dan 5, dengan sampel sebanyak 74 siswa yang dihitung dengan rumus Slovin dengan metode Cluster Sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket dengan skala Guttman, kemudian pengolahan datanya dihitung menggunakan rumus Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara persepsi siswa tentang media Pohon Geulis dengan minat baca, dengan tingkat korelasi sedang. Simpulan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa tentang media Pohon Geulis berada pada kategori tinggi yang diukur berdasarkan enam indikator yaitu ketepatan dengan tujuan media Pohon Geulis, dukungan terhadap kegiatan membaca pada program GLS, kemudahan dalam menggunakan media Pohon Geulis, keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakannya, waktu penggunaan, dan kesesuaian dengan taraf berfikir siswa. Sedangkan minat baca berada pada kategori tinggi yang diukur berdasarkan empat indikator yaitu kesadaran, perhatian, rasa senang, dan frekuensi.---------- This research was based on the result of a survey conducted by the World's Most Literate Nations (WMLN) and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) in 2006 which indicated that the reading interest of the elementary students was categorized as low. To resolve this problem, the Government of Indonesia issued a regulation through the Regulation of the Ministry of Education No. 23 OF the year 2015 which obliged the students to read for 15 minutes before they start the learning activity and realized it with a program called Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. In order to make the GLS works effectively, the school implemented the Pohon Geulis Media. The applied media is an attempt to construct reading habit among the students. The issue examined in this study was how the perception of the students of the Pohon Geulis Media (Gerakan Literasi) correlates with the reading interest at SDN Melong Mandiri 1 Cimahi City. The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between student's perception of the Pohon Geulis Media (Gerakan Literasi) with the reading interest at SDN Melong Mandiri 1 Cimahi City. The population in this study were all of the 4th and 5th graders at SDN Melong Mandiri 1 Cimahi City , which 74 students were selected as the sample which was calculated with Slovin formula using the Cluster Sampling. The method used in this study was the correlational descriptive with the quantitative approach. The instrument carried out in this study was a questionnaire using Guttman scale, as for analyzing the data it was calculated using the Pearson Product Moment. The result of the study indicated that there was a positive correlation between students' perception on the media of Pohon Geulis with the interest in reading at medium level. The conclusion that can be made is that students' perception on the media of Pohon Geulis was categorized as high was measured by six indicators, namely; the accuracy with the aims of the Pohon Geulis media, the support of the reading activity in GLS program, the ease in using the media, and the appropriateness with students' level of thinking. Therefore, students' interest in reading is categorized as high which measured by four indicators, namely; awareness, attention, pleasure, and frequency. |
