| Summary: | Kompetensi literasi saintifik merupakan kemampuan yang perlu dibekalkan bagi peserta didik sebelum menghadapi kehidupan bermasyarakat. Dengan kompetensi ini peserta didik dapat menggunakan pengetahuan ilmiah dalam konteks dan situasi berbeda untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dan pengambilan keputusan dengan metode ilmiah di masyarakat Penelitian eksperimen ini menggunakan pre-experimental designs dengan bentuk one group pre-test post-test design dengan populasi sejumlah 238 peserta didik di salah satu sekolah negeri di Bandung dan sampel 40 peserta didik yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen test kompetensi literasi saintifik dengan reliabilitas 0,72, untuk melihat peningkatan kompetensi literasi saintifik ini dianalisis berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test menggunakan uji-t dan analisis kurva normal. Inquiry dipilih sebagai cara untuk melatihkan kompetensi literasi saintifik mengingat Inquiry memiliki tahapan yang dipandang cocok serta memiliki keleluasaan untuk menentukan dominasi peran guru dan peserta didik berdasarkan kondisi peserta didik.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek menginterpretasi data dan bukti ilmiah lebih baik dibanding aspek lainnya, oleh karena itu penelitian ini perlu dilanjutkan untuk menemukan cara-cara yang lebih fokus dalam melatihkan kompetensi literasi saintifik tersebut. Scientific literacy is the ability of the competencies that need to be supplied for the students before confronting the life of society. With this competence of learners can use scientific knowledge in context and situation is different for solving and decision-making with scientific method in this Research community experiments using pre-experimental designs with one group pre test post test design with a population a number of 238 students in one of the public schools in Bandung and a sample of 40 students who obtained by purposive sampling technique. This research uses the scientific literacy competency test instrument with reliability 0.72, to see an increased scientific literacy competence is analyzed based on the results of pre-and post test-test using test-t and the normal curve analysis. Inquiry was chosen as a way to melatihkan scientific literacy competence given the Inquiry have phases that is considered suitable and have the discretion to determine dominance role of teacher and learners based on the learner's condition. .. The results showed that in the aspect of interpreting the data and scientific evidence better than any other aspect, therefore this research needs to continue to find ways that are more focused on train scientific literacy.
