Berdasarkan pengamatan selama program pengalaman lapangan (PPL) di SMK Negeri 1 Cirebon hasil belajar siswa rendah yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor yaitu salah satunya adalah kurangnya motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran tersebut dan siswa yang cenderung pasif. Untuk mengatasi masalah pembelajaran tersebut dapat digunakan variasi metode pembelajaran menggunakan metode pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments (TGT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengetahui gambaran umum mengenai metode pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments (TGT), (2) mengetahui gambaran umum mengenai hasil belajar, (3) mengetahui hasil dari penerapan metode pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Mekanika Teknik kelas X-DPIB 2 dan X-DPIB 3 SMK Negeri 1 Cirebon tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan bentuk desain quasi experimental. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pelaksanaan metode TGT mendapatkan nilai rata-rata yang lebih baik dibandingkan kelas kontrol dan berdasarkan lembar observasi kegiatan pembelajaran termasuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Dari hasil uji-t terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran mekanika teknik dari kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan metode TGT dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Pada uji peningkatan N-gain pada kedua kelas mengalami peningkatan namun kelas kontrol termasuk dalam kategori rendah sedangkan kelas eksperimen termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Dengan hasil penelitian tersebut menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar dengan peningkatan yang lebih baik pada metode TGT dibanding metode konvensional ceramah sehingga metode TGT dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran mekanika teknik untuk mencapai hasil belajar yang lebih optimal. Based on observations during the field experience program at State Vocational School 1 Cirebon, it was found that the students learning outcomes were low, which was the result of several factors; some of them being the lack of motivation in learning and students passivity. To overcome those learning problems, variation in learning methods can be applied, one of which is by using the Team Game Tournament (TGT) learning method. This research aimed: (1) to find out the general overview of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) learning method, (2) to know the general overview of learning outcome, (3) to find out the results of implementing Team Game Tournament (TGT) learning method towards student learning outcomes on the subjects of Engineering Mechanics at class X-DPIB 2 and X-DPIB 3 of State Vocational School 1 Cirebon in the academic year of 2018/2019. This research used quantitative research with a quasi experimental design. The results of the research showed that the implementation of the TGT method gave the experimental class a better average score compared to the control class, and based on the observation sheet of learning activities, the category was very high. The result of the t-test showed that there were differences in student learning outcomes in the subjects of engineering mechanics from the experimental class that applied the TGT method to the control class that used conventional method. The n-gain improvement test showed that there were increases in both classes, but the control class fell into the low category while the experimental class was included in the high category. From those research results, it can be stated that there were differences in learning outcomes with better improvement in the TGT method than in conventional method, thus indicating that the TGT method can be used in learning engineering mechanics to achieve more optimal learning outcomes.
