Summary:Keterampilan menulis merupakan keterampilan berbahasa yang relatif sulit dikuasai oleh pembelajar terutama pembelajar bahasa asing (Soviyah & Etikaningsih, 2018; Ghaith, 2018). Selain itu, dalam menulis teks deskriptif, beberapa kendala pun dialami oleh pembelajar (Ashraf, 2013). Maka dari itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model Writing Workshop berbasis Instagram; (2) tingkat efektivitas penerapan model Writing Workshop berbasis Instagram dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskriptif bahasa Perancis, (3) untuk menginformasikan tanggapan mahasiswa tentang penerapan model Writing Workshop berbasis Instagram dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif pra-eksperimental: one group pretest-posttest design, untuk mengetahui hasil penerapan model pembelajaran ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI semester 4 kelas A sebanyak 30 mahasiswa. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian, nilai rata-rata prates sebesar 6,7/10 poin dan pascates sebesar 8,28/10 poin. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka kenaikan rata-rata tes mahasiswa adalah 15,8%. Selanjutnya, penerapan model Writing Workshop berbasis Instagram efektif, hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan statistik yang menunjukkan nilai t_hitung sebesar 5,26 dan nilai t_tabel sebesar 2,462, dapat dikatakan bahwa hipotesis kerja (Hk) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Adapun mahasiswa memberikan tanggapan yang baik mengenai penerapan model Writing Workshop berbasis Instagram. Karena mahasiswa merasa senang dan termotivasi serta terdorong untuk menjadi lebih aktif dan berani dalam memberikan pendapat dalam menulis bahasa Perancis. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi untuk memperkaya khasanah teori pembelajaran menulis berbasis media sosial. Kata kunci: Keterampilan menulis, instagram, model writing workshop. Writing skills are language skills that are relatively difficult to be mastered by students, especially foreign language learners (Soviyah & Etikaningsih, 2018; Ghaith, 2018). In addition, in writing descriptive texts, some obstacles are also experienced by students (Ashraf, 2013). Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe: (1) the ability to write descriptive texts of students before and after the application of the Writing Workshop model based the Instagram; (2) the effectiveness of the application of the Writing Workshop model based the Instagram in learning to write descriptive French texts, (3) to inform students' responses about the application of the Writing Workshop model based the Instagram in learning to write descriptive texts. This research was conducted on students of the Department of French Language Education FPBS UPI by using a quantitative method pre-experimental: one group pretest-posttest design, to determine the results of the application of this learning model. The sample in this study was students of the Department of French Language Education FPBS UPI semester 4 class A as many as 30 students. Based on the analysis of research data, the average pre-test scores were 6.7 / 10 points and the post-test scores were 8.28 / 10 points. Based on this, the average increase in student tests is 15.8%. Furthermore, the application of the Writing Workshop model based the Instagram is effective, this is evidenced by the results of statistical calculations that show a t_countof 5.26 and t_table of 2.462, it can be said that the working hypothesis (H_k) is accepted and the hypothesis zero (H_0) is rejected. The students gave good responses regarding the application of the Writing Workshop model based the Instagram. Because students feel happy and motivated to be more active and brave in giving opinions in writing French. The results of this study are expected to contribute to enriching the treasury of social media-based learning theory writing. Keyword: Writing Skills, Instagram, The Writing Workshop Model.
