Data yang ditemukan dalam novel tersebut berjumlah 132 data. Berdasarkan data tersebut, masalah pokok dalam penelitian ini dipaparkan dalam beberapa analisis, yaitu analisis bentuk lingual, makna metafora, dan skema imej metafora laki-laki. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semantik kognitif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan hal-hal yang menjadi pertanyaan penelitian. Pertanyaan penelitian yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) bagaimana bentuk lingual dari metafora laki-laki dalam novel Arok Dedes; (2) bagaimana makna metafora dari metafora laki-laki dalam novel Arok Dedes; (3) bagaimana skema imej metafora laki-laki dalam novel Arok Dedes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat metafora berbentuk frasa idiomatis, frasa nonidiomatis, klausa predikatif, dan klausa nonpredikatif. Konsep makna metafora yang terbentuk yaitu keadaan (state), gerakan (action), penyebab (causation), tujuan (purpose), waktu (time), perubahan (change), dan alat (means). Pandangan penulis tentang imej laki-laki dalam novel ini cukup jelas, bahwa laki-laki hampir selalu dianggap superior. Dari 132 data yang telah dianalisis, terdapat metafora bernilai makna negatif, netral, dan positif. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsep dasar laki-laki dalam novel tersebut lebih ditonjolkan daripada perempuan. ..... The main problem of this research is the equivocal of meaning and the differences in perceptions of the men's metaphor that contained in the Arok Dedes novel. Total of 132 datas of this research has been found in the novel. Based on these data, the main problems in this research are presented in several analyzes, namely lingual form analysis, metaphorical meaning, and men's metaphor's image scheme. This research uses cognitive semantics theory. The purpose of this research is to describe a few of research questions. The research questions are (1) how is the lingual form of the men's metaphor in Arok Dedes novel; (2) how is the metaphorical meaning of men's metaphor ini Arok Dedes novel; (3) how is the image scheme of men's metaphor in Arok Dedes novel. A method that used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The findings in the first analysis of lingual form are that there are idiomatic phrases, nonidiomatic phrases, predicative clauses, and nonpredicative clauses. The concept of metaphorical meanings that formed are state (keadaan), action (gerakan), causation (penyebab), purpose (tujuan), time (waktu), change (perubahan), and means (alat). The author's point of view about men's image in this novel is quite clear, that men are almost always considered superior. From 132 datas that has been analyzed, there are metaphors with negative, neutral, and positive meanings. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the basic concepts of men in this novel are more highlighted than women. | ||
